Collaborative writing project
October 24 - December 20, 2014
Pacific Sky launches its first exhibition installment with No Weather, work by Jared Haug, and a contributing essay and printed Risograph take away by Portland based artist and contributing writer Rebecca Steele. The exhibition opening will be on Saturday Oct 25th from 4-7PM.
Jared's recent work employs processes of freezing, melting, fading, dissolution and re-incorporation. Surfaces record atmospheric confrontations and conflicting tempos, from the terrestrial to the alien.
The pieces in No Weather exist in the lapse between misaligned metabolisms. His tactics of abstraction are borrowed from the financial sector, utilizing partition fabric, paper shredders, fake plants, accretions and erosions of paint. No Weather constructs a portal through administered space, a petrified forecast of mutation and depletion.
